VP, Financial Operations (Fractional)

Assurely is looking to engage one and/or multiple fractional financial operations professionals. 

Our ideal candidate will have insurance experience and be able to both execute and update scalable financial operations.  We are looking for a doer who understands how things traditionally work, how things should work in the future, and be able to balance the duality of pragmatism vs. perfection on how to best implement the most appropriate financial operations solution for Assurely. 

We have two seperate skill sets that we are targeting. The core responsibilities of our highest priorities will be to execute on the daily financial operations such as maintaining and managing financial statements, monthly reconciliation/ accounting close, payroll, budgets, and tax compliance, but you likely will be asked be involved in more.  We are looking for someone that will enjoy those expanded responsibilities.

Secondarily, we are targeting skill sets that will focus on Board and Investor reports, pro forma modeling, and strategic financial discussions with the CEO.

Requirements

  • Insurance experience

  • Strong experience maintaining internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, budgets and actual expenditures

  • Strong budgeting and financial modeling skills aka an excel wizard

  • Commission tracking experience

  • Ability to take various inputs and create ad hoc reporting, dashboards, and operational insights

Nice to haves

  • CPA

  • Experience with tax reporting/ coordination

  • Experience with Surplus Lines

  • Early-stage venture/ growth experience

  • Experience integrating automated billing and other financial operations software into a technology roadmap

  • Experience evaluating, selecting, and managing service providers/ vendors/ software

  • Strong banking relationships

  • Track record of process improvement

  • Investor reporting experience

The compensation package is a combination of salary, business development-based compensation, equity, health insurance, and being part of the mission to create the future norm of the insurance industry.
